The History of Aalto Executive Education Academy
Aalto University's two executive education providers, HSE Executive Education and TKK School of Business, merged on 1 April 2010. The name of the new company is Aalto University Executive Education Ltd (Aalto EE). In 2014 the activities of Aalto EE have been extended to include the commercial professional development activities of both Aalto University Professional Development (Aalto PRO) and the School of Business’ Small Business Center (PYK). In 2017 Aalto EE acquired the entire share capital of FINVA Financial Education Ltd (Finva Finanssikoulutus Oy) from the Insurance Sector Development Association (Vakuutustiedon Kehittämissäätiö). The company is now part of the Aalto EE Group.

Aalto Executive MBA is designed around the four major areas of strategy, leadership, finance and marketing, with a special emphasis on strategy and leadership in a global context. Strategy is approached from a variety of perspectives with an emphasis on inventive strategies and novel business models. Leadership covers a range of themes from self-leadership to leading and inspiring others. Each module is carefully prepared with the program director and faculty coming together to slightly customize the module content that fits the class demographic and market environment. In addition to globally relevant content, the Aalto Executive MBA provides participants with an opportunity to expand their cultural knowledge and skills. Up to four modules can be taken at other Aalto EE locations in Europe and Asia. Two elective modules during International Week and one elective module during study tour abroad contributes further to developing cross-cultural competence.
Life in Aalto Executive Education Academy
One of Aalto EE’s strengths is diverse international network through which we keep ourselves up to date on the latest international knowledge and trends: UNICON (The International University Consortium for Executive Education), EFMD (The European Foundation for Management Development), and PIM (Partnership in International Management). Aalto University School of Business is also a member of CEMS, a network united by the leading European universities and major companies.
Aalto EE ranked 39th globally in the Financial Times Executive Education overall ranking in 2018. Aalto Executive MBA program ranked 78th in 2017.
Each year, around 400 students are admitted into the bachelor's programmes and around 200 students to the master's programmes. Bachelor's admissions are based mainly on an admissions test (in Finnish) and the nationwide matriculation examination. Non-Finnish speakers and international students have the opportunity to gain admission through the SAT (Scholastic Admissions Test) conducted in English. Applicants with an appropriate bachelor's degree may apply in the master’s admissions to take only the degree of master of science in economics and business administration
