The History of Notre Dame of Dadiangas University
Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) is a private Catholic institution founded in 1953 by the Marist Brothers in the Philippines as the Annex of Notre Dame of Lagao. In 1955, Notre Dame of Dadiangas separated from Notre Dame of Lagao and stood on its own. The College Department of NDDU opened in 1959 and followed by the Elementary Department two years after courtesy of Brother Michael O’Keefe and Brother Nicholas Grogan to fulfill the requirement made for the opening of education programs.
At present, NDDU offers bachelor’s degree and postgraduate courses in the fields of Education, Business and Accountancy, Medicine, Nursing, Tourism, Information Technology, Engineering, Communication, and Architecture. It also has 2-year courses in Entrepreneurship and Office Administration. Aside from the regular programs, NDDU also prides itself on its Maris Technical Training programs that provide non-formal technical-vocational lessons for students and professionals. Notre Dame of Dadiangas University boasts its various recognition and awards from different organizations. The institution has been granted a Level III status by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU). Its K-12 basic education program, on the other hand, is recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd).

Notre Dame of Dadiangas University, was ranked number 2 of the Top Performing Nursing Schools issued by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) - Philippine Board of Nursing on February 21, 2006 with a 91% passing rate (78 passed out of 86 takers).
Notre Dame of Dadiangas University, in general, welcomes students of any nationality and religious beliefs. However, the student’s contract with the University is semestral, and therefore, the school reserves the right to refuse re-admission to anyone in subsequent semesters.
