The History of University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao 

University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USL) was established through the request of His Excellency Msgr. Teodulfo Domingo to have a Catholic school for boys in Tuguegarao in 1965. The request was approved by the CICM Superior General, Fr. Charles Pieters. During its opening, the university has 138 enrolled boys, composed of two sections for 1st year and one section for the 2nd year. The institution grew and opened courses in Civil Engineering, Commerce, Liberal Arts, and Junior Secretarial course. In 1971, the school started to accept girls. The institution was finally granted its university status in 2002 by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd).

Academic Highlights

University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (SLCT) was one of the first 30 private higher education institutions (HEis) in the Philippines granted full autonomy by CHEd from 2002-2007. This status was renewed for another 5 years along with other prestigious schools in the country. The university offers a complete set of programs starting from Elementary, Junior up to Senior High School. Its graduate and undergraduate programs focus in various areas such as Health and Allied Science, Accountancy, Business and Hospitality, Education, Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, and Information Technology. Its Accountancy, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Liberal Arts, Elementary Teacher Education, and Secondary Teacher Education programs all received the highest Level IV accreditation from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). Aside from the accreditations, USL is also recognized internationally, winning an International Platinum Award for Excellence and Business Prestige in 2014 at New York, U.S.A.

1. The University of Saint Louis Elementary Department welcomes all pupils who meet the admission requirements:

1. He/she meets the age requirement.
2. He/she fully subscribes to the objectives, policies, and Catholic orientation of the school.
3. He/she respects and follows the religious instructions and activities in the school.
4. He/she is willing to participate in all school activities.
5. He/she is of good moral character

2. The Department reserves the right to refuse admission, readmission or enrollment of a pupil for such reasons as: 

1. Limited school facilities
2. Applicant’s poor academic qualifications or performance
3. Applicant’s lack of moral or behavioral fitness
4. Applicant’s own orientation that may run contrary to the school’s Catholic orientation
5. Applicant’s lack of ecumenical bond with the Catholic Church
6. Applicant’s parents’ deliberate or advertent lack of cooperation and collaboration with the school, and
7. Other conditions as may be stated in the succeeding provisions of this handbook.

3. Only applicants who have complied with all the requirements shall be scheduled for interview and testing/assessment.

4.* There will be no interpretation of test scores in terms of description will be made. The school shall have full rights to test results that shall be kept confidential but may be released to the pupil concerned, his/her parent or guardian.

5.Admission for Pre-school shall be on a first come, first served basis.
