The History of Angeles University Foundation

Angeles University Foundation (AUF), a non-stock, non-profit educational institution, was established on May 25, 1962 by Mr. Agustin P. Angeles, Dr. Barbara Y. Angeles, and family. In less than nine years, the Institution was granted University status on April 16, 1971 by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports.

AUF is a world-class higher education institution committed to excellence in instruction, research and community service. It is the premier university in the region and is among the best universities in the Philippines. It has among the highest percentages of faculty with graduate degrees in the Philippines. These qualifications are the foundation for its quality instruction and research.

Academic Highlights

The campus is located along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Salapungan, Angeles City. It is relatively small compared to the campuses of other major universities in the Philippines. The campus is urban in setting, and it is located within the business area of the city. With the major and professional (minor) subjects aside, all undergraduate students are required to take 12 units of Theology classes. The students are also required to attend 4 physical education classes, and a choice from between ROTC and civil service training.

The university is home to 8 undergraduate colleges, with the College of Arts and Sciences as the oldest. There is also a School of Medicine and School of Law apart from the Graduate School. The university's Computer Studies programs have been accredited by the Commission on Higher Education as academic centers.

Life in Angeles University Foundation

The Angeles University Foundation (AUF) Great Danes are the varsity teams of Angeles University Foundation. The women's teams are called the Lady Danes, while the Juniors (high school) teams are the Baby Danes. The Great Danes have played as a guest team in the 2009–10 season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines).
