The History of Siena College

Siena College is an independent Roman Catholic liberal arts college in New York, United States. It is a four-year, coeducational, independent college in the Franciscan tradition, founded by the Order of Friars Minor, in 1937. It has 3,000 full-time students and offers undergraduate degrees in business, liberal arts, and sciences.

Life in Siena College

Besides academic life, Siena offers 21 NCAA Division I sports, all of which participate in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Athletic teams were first known as the Golden Hurricanes and later as the Indians. The school adopted its current nickname, the Saints.

Admissions

Approximately 30-35 students are selected for the program each year. As entering freshmen, Presidential Scholars can be considered. Honors Fellows must maintain a 3.3 GPA throughout their studies at Siena.
