The History of City University of Hong Kong

A public research university in Kowloon Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It was founded in 1984 as City Polytechnic of Hong Kong and became a fully accredited university in 1994. It is one of eight government-funded degree-granting tertiary institutions. City University of Hong Kong is organised into four colleges and three schools, including the College of Business, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Science and Engineering, College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences, School of Creative Media, School of Energy and Environment, and School of Law. The university offers over 50 bachelor's degree programmes through its constituent colleges and schools. It also offers dual degree programmes with world-renowned universities such as Columbia University. Postgraduate degree programmes are offered by the Chow Yei Ching School of Graduate Studies.

Life in City University of Hong Kong

The sports facilities on campus are available for booking include physical fitness room located at 4/F, Purple Zone of Yeung Kin Man Academic Building and Table Tennis Room located at G/F of Li Dak Sum Yip Yio Chin Academic Building. For outdoor sports facilities, you may use the on-campus Swimming Pool, outdoor basketball court located opposite the student residence halls. The off-campus Joint Sports Centre at Renfrew Road, Kowloon Tong (jointly owned by CityU, HKBU and PolyU) also provides a variety of quality outdoor sports facilities.

Admissions

Grade C/Grade 4 or above in GCSE English Language or English Literature, or a TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based test), or an IELTS overall band score of 6.5. An IB Diploma for admission to first-year studies. For Advanced Standing I admission, a minimum diploma point score of 30 (out of 45) is required.
