As the environment is too ideal, students may have quite a hard time finding a place where they can focus and study peacefully. Living in such a beautiful place, coupled with regular partying all year round, some students may find it difficult to concentrate on their studies. The result of a recent evaluation of students showed average level of grades and a low proportion of international students.

Both sides of the school faces the sea so it is very scenic, calming, and beautiful. Santa Barbara is famous for its luxurious dining, wine and beaches so it is not a surprise that most accomodations around the area are first-class too. A lot of various activities are easily accessible to students like surfing, fishing, whale watching, beach walking, and the likes.

What are the advantages of going to University of California, San Francisco (UCSF)?

This is the only UC campus that does not have an overall comprehensive ranking as it is a medical school. Here, they offer U.S's top public health, medicine and nursing programs. The university's annual federal fund is higher than Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Washington and Yale. The school is also located in the heart of the city and has all the conveniences the city has to offer.

UCSF only offers masters and doctoral degrees. Its admission criteria and course schedules are also different from other UC universities, and admission is very difficult.

San Francisco is a city you will never get tired of, where it's full of energy and style. But in UCSF, you cannot expect too much academic atmosphere as you won't really feel like you're in college because of the surroundings and the environment. There are lots of hospitals around that offer internships and job opportunities.
