The culture here is very North American. What is good is that here, you can experience all sorts of culture, how the locals live, their habits etc. The party culture here is also quite strong where people always hold parties, gather to gossip etc. In addition, people here are also quite judgmental towards individual's personality. In generally, I would consider University of Toronto quite friendly.

The cons of the programme includes:
1. It is only a one year programme so you can only get a one year work permit. Studying for 16 months gives 3 years of work permit so you may lose out in this sense.
2. The COOP of this programme is relatively new so there are not much compatible companies to match with.
3. The timeline of the programme is quite tight so you don't really have time to digest and absorb what you have learnt although content taught is very valuable. At the same time, content is not very in depth due to the time limit so you cannot go deep into learning finance or big data.

As the environment is too ideal, students may have quite a hard time finding a place where they can focus and study peacefully. Living in such a beautiful place, coupled with regular partying all year round, some students may find it difficult to concentrate on their studies. The result of a recent evaluation of students showed average level of grades and a low proportion of international students.

Both sides of the school faces the sea so it is very scenic, calming, and beautiful. Santa Barbara is famous for its luxurious dining, wine and beaches so it is not a surprise that most accomodations around the area are first-class too. A lot of various activities are easily accessible to students like surfing, fishing, whale watching, beach walking, and the likes.
