UW does not grant waivers of the English proficiency requirement. However, this requirement can be met in a number of ways, as specified in Graduate School Memo #8. If your U.S. degree will be conferred by the start of the program you are applying to, the conferral of your U.S. degree will complete the Graduate School’s English proficiency requirement. If admitted, the Graduate School will ask for an official transcript with degree posted before your first quarter of enrollment, to complete the English proficiency requirement.
