Integrated Service Provider and Linked Networks. If you elect to connect your OSAU account to another online service provider, such as a social networking service (“Integrated Service Provider”), you will be allowing us to pass to and receive from the Integrated Service Provider your log-in information and other user data. You may elect to sign in or sign up to the OSAU Platform through a linked network like Facebook or Google (each a “Linked Network”). If you elect to sign up through a Linked Network, you will be asked to enable sharing of your contacts with OSAU. If you agree to this sharing, in order to facilitate a more connected experience, we may send notices informing your contacts you have joined OSAU so that you and your contacts can find and follow each other on the OSAU Platform. The specific information we may collect varies by Integrated Service Provider, but the permissions page for each will describe the relevant information. Integrated Service Providers control how they use and share your information; you should consult their respective privacy policies for information about their practices.

We use cookies, log files, pixel tags, local storage objects, and other tracking technologies to automatically collect information about your activities, such as your searches, page views, date and time of your visit, and other information about your use of the OSAU Platform. Cookies, Pixels and Tracking

We and our third party providers use cookies, clear GIFs/pixel tags, JavaScript, local storage, log files, and other mechanisms to automatically collect and record information about your usage and browsing activities on the OSAU Platform and across third party sites or online services. For more detailed information about these mechanisms and how we collect activity information.

  • Cookies. These are small files with a unique identifier that are transferred to your browser through our websites. They allow us to remember users who are logged in, to understand how users navigate through and use the OSAU Platform, and to display personalized content and targeted ads (including on third party sites and applications).
  • Pixels, web beacons, clear GIFs. These are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, that we use to track the online movements of users of the OSAU Platform and the web pages of users of our Ad Services, and to personalize content. We also use these in our emails to let us know when they have been opened or forwarded, so we can gauge the effectiveness of our communications.
  • Analytics Tools. We may use internal and third party analytics tools, including Google Analytics. The third party analytics companies we work with may combine the information collected with other information they have independently collected from other websites and/or other online products and services. Why do we use cookies

  1. Authentication

    • We use cookies to verify your account and determine when you're logged in so we can make it easier for you to access our site and show you the appropriate experience and features.
    • For example: We use cookies to keep you logged in as you navigate between OSAU Pages. Cookies also help us remember your browser so you do not have to keep logging in to OSAU and so you can more easily log in to OSAU via third-party apps and websites.
  2. Security, site and product integrity

    • We use cookies to help us keep your account, data and OSAU safe and secure. For example: Cookies can help us identify and impose additional security measures when someone may be attempting to access an OSAU account without authorisation, for instance, by rapidly guessing different passwords. We also use cookies to store information that allows us to recover your account in the event that you forget your password or to require additional authentication if you tell us that your account has been hacked.
    • We also use cookies to combat activity that violates our policies or otherwise degrades our ability to provide for the OSAU platform. For example: Cookies help us fight spam and phishing attacks by enabling us to identify computers that are used to create large numbers of fake OSAU accounts. We also use cookies to detect computers infected with malware and to take steps to prevent them from causing further harm.

Do-Not-Track Signals. Please note we do not change system behavior within the OSAU Platform in response to browser requests not to be tracked. You may, however, disable certain tracking by third-parties as discussed in the OSAU Ads section below.

We display personalized ads and content to you on the OSAU Platform. To show users relevant ads and other personalized content, we may use information that we have collected via the OSAU Platform, including from our Pixels, widgets, plug-ins, or buttons embedded on third party sites that collect information about a user’s activity on other sites. We also use this information to measure advertising effectiveness and to provide metrics about ad performance to advertising customers. For example, if you visit websites of schools in a particular regions, we may show you content related to these schools on the OSAU Platform. We may report to the user of our Ad Services the number of OSAU Platform users that saw a particular ad and certain aggregated demographic information about the viewers of the ad..

Users of our Ad Services may also provide us with information as part of their ad campaigns. For example, they may share customer list information (e.g., email or phone number for current and prospective customers) with us in order to create customized audiences for their ad campaigns. We only use this customer list information to facilitate the particular user’s campaign (including ad metrics and reporting to that user) or for fraud detection and security purposes. We do not disclose these customer lists to third parties (other than our services providers) unless required by law, and we do not disclose to the relevant Ad Services user the names or identities of their customers that were successfully reached as part of such campaigns.

We may also work with third parties such as network advertisers to serve advertisements on the OSAU Platform and on third-party websites or other media (e.g., social networking platforms), such as Google AdSense (more info here) and Facebook Audience Network (more info here). These third parties may use cookies, JavaScript, web beacons (including clear GIFs), Flash LSOs and other tracking technologies to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content to you.

While you cannot opt out of advertising on the OSAU Platform, you may opt out of much interest-based advertising on third party sites and through third party ad networks (including Facebook Audience Network and Google AdSense). For more information, visit Opting out means that you will no longer receive personalized ads by third parties ad networks from which you have opted out, which is based on your browsing information across multiple sites and online services; if you delete cookies or change devices, your opt out may no longer be effective.

How We Protect Your Information

The security of your information is important to us. OSAU has implemented safeguards to protect the information we collect. However, no website or Internet transmission is completely secure. We urge you to take steps to keep your personal data safe, such as choosing strong password and keeping it private, as well as logging out of your user account, and closing your web browser when finished using the OSAU Platform.
